Introducing NurtureMulti — Your Tailored One-a-Day Pregnancy Multivitamin

15 Apr 2025

Our commitment to future conscientious clinical trials and ongoing research means we’re striving to be the best trusted supplement brand for mums-to-be and maternal wellness professionals. But trust only comes from transparency, so take a look at the science behind our NurtureMulti® supplement, what ingredients we use and where we source them from. Because your baby deserves the best. And so do you.

NurtureMulti® is a one-a-day multivitamin which is tailored to you. It’s a unique combination of the following ingredients which have all been specifically chosen thanks to the way in which they support healthy pregnancies:

Iron

Our body uses iron to make haemoglobin. Haemoglobin is a protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen to your tissues. During pregnancy the amount of iron you need increases as your body uses it to make more blood and supply oxygen to your baby.

Zinc

Your baby needs zinc for cell growth and the production and functioning of DNA - the body's genetic blueprint. Zinc is also involved in energy production and is essential for brain development.Source:researchgate.net,Zinc is Essential for Brain Development and Function

Selenium

Studies show that selenium can help reduce risk of preterm births. Not only that, but selenium deficiency during pregnancy can also lead to dysfunctions in the nervous system of the baby.

B12

When you're pregnant, not having enough vitamin B12 can increase the risk of your baby developing conditions such as spina bifida and anencephaly

B3

Essential for your baby’s development, B3 keeps nervous systems, mucous membranes and skin healthy. It also improves digestion, eases nausea and can even relieve painful migraines for mum.

Vitamin D3

Being deficient in vitamin D while pregnant has been associated with an increased risk of pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes and preterm birth. When you’re pregnant, vitamin D also helps to develop your baby’s bones, making sure they get enough calcium and preventing conditions such as rickets.

Folate (specific dose for first trimester)

Folate is the reason why prenatal supplements were first developed, and for good reason. During the early weeks of your pregnancy, folate helps to reduce the risk of problems in your baby's development. Like B12, folic acid can help prevent neural tube defects - reducing the rate of birth defects by up to 50%

Copper

Copper is crucial for babies’ development in the womb. It’s involved in the formation of everything from the heart and blood vessels to the skeletal system and nervous system. It also assists with the digestion and absorption of nutrients, helping you to nurture a healthy pregnancy.Source:babycenter.com,Copper during pregnancy

Iodine

Iodine is essential for the production of thyroid hormones in both mum and baby. These hormones regulate the development of the baby’s brain and nervous system. Your iodine requirements increase substantially when pregnant to make sure you’ve got enough to share with your little one.

Manganese

Manganese is a mineral that plays an important role in helping form bone and cartilage in your developing baby's body. It also helps to protect cells from damage and activates the enzymes that metabolise carbohydrates, amino acids and cholesterol.

Source of ingredients

Many of our products are backed by evidence and proven efficacy. So you can have peace of mind knowing you’re receiving the highest standard of nutritional care supported by medical researchers and obstetrician professionals.

Where possible we source our ingredients from clinically proven brands like Albion® Minerals - the leading brand of chelated minerals for premier human nutrition products. They’re a trusted source for safe, proven, effective and organic minerals.

Ferrochel® Chelated Iron

Ferrochel® (Ferrous Bisglycinate Chelate) is a unique, organic iron product proven to cause less gastric upset. Its small molecular size allows it to remain intact, leading to better absorption. This all helps to make it a superior iron supplement - especially for pregnant women.

Zinc (AlbionZinc) (Chelated)

Albion’s chelated zinc has a low pH and a highly stable structure that is easily absorbed. In a study, their chelated zinc increased absorption by more than 43% compared to zinc gluconate (the form of zinc used in most supplements). Other studies have also shown the absorption of AlbionZinc was higher than other popular forms of zinc (zinc picolinate, zinc glycinate and zinc oxide) - sometimes by as much as 300%.Source:balchem.com, Albion Chelated Zinc

Selenium (selenomethionine)

Selenomethionine is an example of a natural, holistic supplement. Sodium selenite is more commonly used but is inorganic, so the body has trouble processing it. Selenomethionine, however, is identical to natural selenium, which means that your body doesn’t even need to try to deploy this nutrient on its vital journey throughout your body. It also has no serious side effects and is more bioavailable.

B12 (Methyl-Cobalamin)

Cyanocobalamin is a synthetic form of vitamin B12 found only in supplements. Our products use methylcobalamin instead, a naturally occurring form of B12 that your body absorbs more easily.

Folate

We only ever use folate, the natural form of B9 in NutureBlend®. Compared to folic acid, the more commonly used synthetic version, folate is more readily absorbed and causes fewer side effects. Source:health.com, What's The Difference Between Folate Vs. Folic Acid?
