Ingredients

DHA: DHA is an essential Omega-3 that contributes to normal brain and vision function. It is delivered in a high-strength, pure complex combining triglyceride fish oil for absorption and phospholipid-bound Omega-3s for enhanced bioavailability, supporting increased demand during postpartum and breastfeeding.

EPA: EPA is an essential Omega-3 that contributes to normal heart and cellular function. It is provided in a pure, high-strength complex using both triglyceride fish oil and phospholipid-bound forms to support absorption and complement DHA.

How to take

Intake: Take 2 soft gels daily.

When to take: Take preferably with a main meal, with a glass of water or a cold drink.

Storage: Store in a cool, dry place. Avoid exposure to heat sources and sunlight.

FAQs

  • What is a phospholipid-bound Omega-3?

Phospholipids are a natural form of fat that make up the structure of every cell in the body, including the brain. When Omega-3s are bound to phospholipids, they are delivered in a form that is naturally familiar to the body, which may support efficient absorption and utilisation.

  • What is triglyceride fish oil?

Triglyceride fish oil is a naturally occurring form of fat found in fish. In this form, Omega-3 fatty acids are bound in a structure that closely resembles how they appear in whole food sources. It is widely used in high-quality supplements due to its stability and effective absorption.

  • Why does Professor Nurture Omega-3 use both forms?

Professor Nurture Omega-3 combines triglyceride fish oil and phospholipid-bound Omega-3s to deliver a broad-spectrum approach to absorption. This dual-formulation is designed to provide Omega-3s in complementary structures that support uptake and utilisation in the body.

  • What is DHA and EPA?

DHA (Docosahexaenoic Acid) and EPA (Eicosapentaenoic Acid) are essential Omega-3 fatty acids. DHA contributes to the normal function of the brain and vision, while EPA supports heart function and overall cellular health. Together, they form the key active components of Omega-3 nutrition.

  • Why are Omega-3s important during pregnancy and postpartum?

During pregnancy, DHA contributes to the normal development of the baby’s brain and eyes. In the postpartum period, Omega-3s also support maternal brain function and emotional wellbeing, while breastfeeding can increase nutritional demand.

The importance of postpartum nutrition

Professor Mark Johnson, Founder of Nurture & Professor Nurture and leading Obstetrician & Gynaecologist:

“Postpartum nutrition doesn’t stop at birth. Omega-3 DHA is important for maternal brain function and emotional well-being, and during breastfeeding it also supports infant brain and visual development through breast milk. As many women don’t get enough from diet alone, consistent supplementation can be an important support during this stage.

What makes us different?

Professor Michael Crawford: A renowned figure in the field of nutritional science, with over four decades of groundbreaking research focused on brain development:

“Phospholipid-bound omega-3s are structurally closer to the forms found in the brain, which may support more efficient absorption and delivery to tissues where they are needed most, including during periods of high demand such as postpartum recovery and infant development.”
